How is the Learning Designer Program different than other programs?

 

The Learning Designer Program is devoted to supporting its participants in their lifelong learning journey.  We've carefully designed all aspects of our program to meet this goal and in doing so have created a program that is without compare in the field. Whereas most programs provide two or three years of post-graduation support, the Learning Designer Program has full-time staff solely committed to supporting our graduates throughout their careers. Additionally, the Learning Designer Program offers unprecedented hands-on experiences in schools, workshops, studios, nonprofits, and innovative education companies. The Learning Designer Program is housed in a state-of-the-art facility primed for creative, innovative thinking.  Lastly, the people of the Learning Designer Program all share a common passion and vision for educational change.

What kind of certification will I receive upon graduation?

 

During the two-year onsite program Learning Designers work towards a M. Ed in Learning Design with a concentration in specific secondary subject-area licensure (English, History, Mathematics, Science).

What does it cost?

 

The Learning Designer Program is committed to keeping costs as low as possible to attract the most qualified candidates. We work with all of our participants to find as much additional funding and scholarship support as possible.  When eligible, participants can elect to utilize work study during their placements in studios, nonprofits, and education companies.  For the total experience of onsite program and lifetime support, the Learning Designer Program costs $80,000.

What kind of schools to graduates go on to teach in?

 

Learning Designer graduates are highly sought after by all learning environments.  In the past graudates have found project-based and experiential learning environments to be favorable entry points for their careers. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to supporting our participants find the best post-graduation fit.  As a result 100% of our graduates have found employment.  Many of our alumni have even gone on to pursue leadership positions within their schools and several have joined together to found new schools.

Why should I enroll in a two-year master's program instead of a fast-track alternative?

 

We believe any human endeavor, particularly something as complex as designing environments for learning, benefits from the right kind of preparation.  The Learning Designer Program is carefully designed to provide participants with a plethora of experiences and coursework to enter the field with the skills and confidence they need to make educational change.
